MoistureShield Composite Decking and Railing is made from 90% pre-and post-consumer recycled content, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty against rot, decay and termite damage. Because it is manufactured with A.E.R.T.’s unique total encapsulation process, MoistureShield is extremely durable. The encapsulation of the wood fibers allows MoistureShield to have direct ground contact, unlike other materials that must be elevated.
Here are a few of its features:
MoistureShield® is manufactured with a 50/50 blend of recycled wood fibers and plastics. As a company, A.E.R.T. is able to save 271,808,511 pounds of waste from entering the country’s landfills every year. That equals 36 football fields stacked 10 feet high!
Easy Installation
MoistureShield can be installed using regular wood working tools. No special tools are required.
The MoistureShield Story
A recognized pioneer in the industry, Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies, Inc. (A.E.R.T.) has been manufacturing composite wood building products for over 20 years. In 1988, the Brooks family founded A.E.R.T. when they discovered an eco-friendly way to create high quality building components using reclaimed wood fibers and recycled plastics. In 1992, leveraging their expertise, they introduced a unique line of composite decking products able to resist swelling, rot and termites, and which was easier to maintain and longer lasting than other competing products. This was all made possible because of A.E.R.T’s unique and patented “total encapsulation” process.

Here are a few of its features:
- Wood fibers reinforce the plastic, making it stiffer and reducing its thermal movement.
- Planks are extruded and allowed to cool slowly, which means the boards will not twist or warp.
- MoistureShield decking is non-toxic and does not require staining, painting or sealing. Boards retain their rich colour, unlike other composites that experience a greater degree of fading.
- Backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty, you know you have a product you can count on to last through the test of time.
